Bloody Tomb

It is one of the most striking historical buildings of the district. Because the name Kanlı Kümbet is a name that has an intriguing effect on the minds of many people.

The appearance of this historical building, which reflects Seljuk architecture, is octagonal. The pyramid-shaped roof located right above the dome is one of the most striking parts. According to a rumor, the reason why its name is bloody is that people who committed crimes during the Ottoman period were executed and buried here. You should definitely see this tomb, which has a mysterious past, up close. While you are here, you can also visit the Nefise Hatun Tomb, which is located nearby, reflects the traces of Seljuk architecture and contains the tomb of Nefise Hatun, the daughter of Emir Sührap Bey. 

Emir Ömer Bey Masjid

One of the places that should definitely be on your list of places to visit in Battalgazi is Emir Ömer Bey Mosque. The masjid, built by Emirül Azam Celaleddin Ömer in 1360, is among the historical buildings worth seeing in the district.

There is also a grave on the west-facing side of the entrance door of the mosque. Smooth cut stones were used in the construction of the mosque. We recommend that you see this historical building, built with a rectangular plan, before ending your trip to the district.
